My Skin Care Journey

Located on Mills St in the leafy suburb of Albert Park, Advanced Skin paramedical therapists certainly know how to achieve amazing glowing skin. I am excited to take you on my skin care journey with Advanced Skin and Beauty, sharing all my treatments along the way.

In todays introductory post I will be sharing my skin care goals and a little insight to the treatments I have had thus far.

It has been one of my goals this year to get back on top of my skin care treatment game. Pre-kids I was at a beauty clinic every month getting regular facials and microdermabrasion. To schedule time for myself to get back in salon and treat my skin feels amazing! Not only is my skin benefiting from treatments but the time to myself is also a luxury!

My skin care Journey

My main skin concerns (note I am in my thirties) is fine lines, skin texture, firmness and hydration. I am pretty lucky in terms of breakouts and only have the occasional one here and there, however I do find my pores noticeable (to me anyway).

Visia Analysis

Upon my first visit to Advanced Skin and Beauty, before commencing my skin care journey I under went a full skin assessment. Visia Analysis is used to assess genetic, internal and external influences which affect the skin condition and behaviours. Wrinkles, pigmentation, texture, hydration, oil-flow, capillaries and porphyrins (open pores) are all assessed. By undergoing an analysis with Visia a personalised treatment plan will be prescribed and the best suited products for your skin.

Analysis only takes 30mins. Your face is positioned into the Visia Analysis and the camera takes photos from three different positions. Results are discussed straight away. I will say it is pretty amazing technology!

Hydration was a key point in my analysis and those little fine lines around my eyes I am finding more noticeable? Well that came in as a little shock and a little wake up call! It is time for me to say goodbye to sugar! That little bit of sugar in my diet is contributing to those pesky little fine lines. I wouldn’t say I consume a lot of sugar but some skin is more prone to fine line sugar wrinkles than others! I wont say it is easy but I have definitely been alot more cautious about what I am eating!

Product Overhaul

After Visia Analysis my entire skincare product got a massive overhaul. Straight to the point, it was to the bin with whatever was not good for my skin. Or whatever could be used up as a body moisturiser. Matrix Dr was added to my skin care journey regime. Morning and night I cleanse with Matrix Dr Purify Clean using gauze for a through clean. Matrix Dr Instant Lift Serum to lift, tighten and hydrate the skin. Matrix Dr Perfecting Serum to nourish, soothe, replenish cellular health, renew and stimulate skin cells. I am finding my skin has definitely improved and feeling more hydrated!

Treatments

Over the past two months I have had a Sono Infusuion performed numerous times complete with an LED session. Sono Infusions are an absolutely amazing treatment. I certainly noticed results straight away, personally I absolutely love this treatment! A customised vitamin infusion is created then infused deep into the layers. To be precise Sono Infusion emits sound waves which create healthy vibrations pushing active ingredients 4000 times deeper into the skin. Hence the results straight away. The treatment does not hurt at all it is actually quite relaxing! Suitable for all skin types.

LED non-invasive and the most relaxing of all, I tend to drift of too sleep. Pure bliss whilst LED light therapy works magic. Depending upon your skins need the colour light will vary. I have yellow light which targets skin rejuvenation, fine lines and increases blood flow within the skin. Every visit I generally have a LED session added on they only take 10-20mins.

Epi Dermal Levelling also known as dermalplaning is the one other treatment I have had. I had this treatment performed the night before an event. Literally non invasive, no pain and no down time. A gentle deep exfoliation technique more thorough than microdermabrasion! A surgical blade (I know sounds scary but definitely not!) is worked over the face removing all dead skin cells and all fine hairs. Afterwards your skin feels so soft and super smooth. So much so you wont want to touch it! The next day my skin was absolutely glowing. I received so many comments on how good my skin looked!

The skin care Journey continues

I am excited to take you all on my skin care journey with Advanced Skin and Beauty. I love Advanced Skin and Beauty’s approach on skin care. Every client of all ages I have noticed walk through their doors has amazing beautiful skin. Personally I feel a lot more educated and how to thoroughly look after my skin concerns at home. As for skin it has definitely improved I even find I am wearing less foundation!

The treatments we have been performing and products I have been using are all getting my skin prepped/ready for some more intense treatments! I cant wait to share what we have planned on my skin care journey!
